Since 1999 I have worked as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), medical nutrition therapist and the founder of WestSide Nutrition and Wellness, a nutrition counseling practice on the Upper West Side. I received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and continued my education at New York University, earning a Masters Degree in Clinical Nutrition. Part of my training to become an RDN required me to complete a 900 hour dietetic internship in affiliation with NYU Langone Medical Center.
My education and training in the area of holistic health and nutrition continued first at the Natural Gourmet Cookery School and the Institute for Food Healing in New York City, and most recently at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the only nutrition school integrating all the different dietary theories — combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.
In addition to private practice, I have served as the staff dietitian/nutritionist at Barnard College since 2012 in the department of Primary Care Health Services. Previously, I was on staff at Columbia University PCHS.
Prior to working in the field of nutrition and wellness, I worked with Oxford Health Plans and other Fortune 500 companies in the area of Marketing Communications.
